Decorating with Leopard Animal Prints

Recently I learned about a design contest that offered the best fashion or home set entry a monetary prize.  Money is always a motivator, so  I decided to create a home set that would showcase Yonni's Wacky Workshop's collection; black and gold leopard animal print home accessories
You would think that this set would be easy for me to do, right?  Wrong I thought about how I would create this living room or modern man cave for ten days. My desire was to appeal to the taste of the artist and hopefully if he liked my contest entry that I would win. (wishful thinking).  Of course his tastes and mine differ greatly.  I decided to give it a go, and create a chic living room or man cave. home set for my contest entry.

Here is the home set that I created for the contest.

Before I decorated the space:

1178 Harvard Ave E STE 1, Seattle, WA 98102

After I decorated the space:

Decisions Decisions…
I decided to stay with the black and gold color theme for the space, but instead of having a feature wall with jungle print  or black or gold damask wallpaper I kept the white walls.  Thought they would provide a nice backdrop and that the home accessories would pop.

So the plan was to add a gold and black room divider behind the raised cabinet.  Add a feature  leopard print poster above the fireplace.  Then I needed to decide on the style of black furniture for this space. I searched for masculine black leather sofa, modern tables and other accessories.
When I knew what furniture I would use to create this home set, and how it would be arranged in the space then all I needed to do is decorate it with the gold and black animal print home accessories.
The sofa was accented with a variety of pillows and I added a plain black pillow for contrast. A table lamp and coffee table accents were also added to create this modern man cave. The big cat gave the room a wild, untamed appeal. From there I added silk palm trees to add a jungle appeal.
The work on this set took me less than six hours, in that time I clipped the products needed for this digital design, arrange them in the space as a collage and balanced the home set so that it was eye appealing.
When the contest entry was completed I shared on social media, and the designer of Yonni's Wacky Workshop said; “I could live in this room” For me that is the greatest compliment.
Know that if you are thinking about creating a leopard print space in your home, that it is best to choose your colors, then decide on your focal areas before you decorate the room. Balance of color is the key to every successful room theme.

Here are a few of the home products that I used when creating this set.
