When it comes to decorating for Valentine’s Day I do not go overboard, but I do add touches of the seasonal color red to my décor.  

The rooms that I decorate are my kitchen and my den.  In the kitchen I like to showcase a few Valentine’s Day plates on my my bakers rack along with coffee mugs.  I will add festive holiday napkins to the holder and drape an red heart apron on the end of my kitchen rack.  Valentine’s Day theme placemats will make the kitchen table look eye appealing and especially fun if you enjoy family and friend gatherings..

In the living room I will accent the sofa with a red theme throw pillow and enhance the coffee table with an assortment of home accessories.  The secret for decorating for this loving holiday is to have fun, be creative and have a happy Valentine’s Day.

Rooster Kitchen Décor Ideas

Normally I would not decorate my kitchen with roosters and chickens but for some reason, my family must think it would be a good idea because recently I received rooster mugs and a poster.

The country barnyard/rooster theme for my kitchen is growing on me and I really think it is perfect for my adobe style home with the stucco walls that are painted a warm gold with turquoise trim.

I like the idea of the vintage rooster coffee mugs hanging from my bakers rack as well 4 to 6 mix and match barnyard plates.  A canister for my herbal tea bags tucked in a corner on the kitchen counter, coordinated towels, apron, napkins and placement will certainly make my kitchen more cheerful.  Add a rooster framed print and a wall clock and the kitchen will look very eye appealing.

I love the zazzle table lamps because they are the perfect size for a recipe desk or small to medium accent table.  Two are perfect for a buffet.  The shade comes in three types of fabric; polyester, rice paper and linen.  My lamp has rice paper and both my husband and I like the look.  A well made lamp at a fair price.

Decorating Living Room with Throw Pillows

Decorating your living room does not need to be expensive you can add a fresh look easily with a set of coordinating throw pillows.  When it comes to decorating with the pillow it is best to coordinate the pillows with your furniture.

This picture shows various blue pillow sizes as well as texture, fabric, color, and style.  All of the pillows have a unique look however they coordinate well with each other.  A set of pillows such as this one will complement a blue theme home as they are eye appealing. 
 

Before you shop for living room throw pillows determine the style of your room.  There are a variety of pillow styles; floral, girly, vintage, country, modern, seasonal, and more.  The style that you choose should complement your décor.

Interior Decorating Tips

1. When you determine the style you will then decide on the colors that will work with your living room décor.  
2. Pick out three primary colors.  As an example a pink, green and beige patterned or floral pillow will accent a green-themed room nicely
3. Coordinate this green pattern pillow with a solid primary color and you will have a set of the throw pillow accents for your sofa or your chair. 
4. Buy throw pillows as a set; choose 4 to 6 for a sofa, one for an accent chair.  An interesting pillow arrangement would feature several sizes.
