Tween Girls Bedroom Decor Ideas

When planning a tween girls bedroom it is best to make it interesting by adding texture and color. A tween will spend more time in their bedroom than any other room in the home so it is important to add décor that appeals to her taste.

Choose a bedroom for a tween girl (age 8 to 12) that is large enough to accommodate her needs; sleeping, study area, large closet, area to dress with full-length mirror, a sitting area and windows for natural light. Also, consider a bedroom large enough to accommodate friends for slumber parties and sleepovers.

A room with a view is always better than a room with a window that opens to the side of another house. You would want to create a cozy sitting area with lofty throw pillows next to a window that opens up to a view. Your tween girl will sit by this window when she is talking on the phone, studying or daydreaming.

Consider paint rather than wallpaper because you can easily change the paint color but wallpaper is permanent. Wallpapers may look wonderful but a tween girl may grow tired of the look.  You can always accent the walls by painting a feature primary color wall and then hang posters or install a wall decal.

When it comes to decorating for the spring season I like to bring the tulip garden indoors.  A vase of pink tulips on the bedside table always looks so pretty. Fresh flowers are a great way to add warmth and coziness to your bedroom.

It does not matter if your bedroom set is dark or light wood. Modern or a classic design you can always add floral prints to your décor. For a spring pastel color theme, I would suggest that you remove all dark colors from your bedroom and if your walls are painted a dark color you should update them with a pastel color or green, yellow, pink, beige, or white as they would be complementary to spring pink tulip product designs.

Your family and pets will appreciate the warmth and the coziness of a spring season fleece blanket.  The spring season can be chilly and when nights are cold it's a good idea to have a spring fleece blanket on your sofa and your bed. 

It is also a good idea to have a basket of blanket for your family and friends to use while sitting outdoors. We all enjoy sitting by the firepit on a spring night but if it is cool, it is cozier wrapped in a fleece blanket.

There are many fleece blanket that comes in solid pastel colors and a few generic prints at the mall shops but I found that the prints at Zazzle.com are fabulous. Zazzle offers a variety of spring patterns to choose from all have been created by an independent designer.

I have bought fleece blankets at Zazzle for my nieces and they both remarked at how luxurious they were and that the fleece was very soft. My one niece has had her blanket for three years and I saw it a few months ago draped over the backside of her sofa and this blanket looked new. The colors in the floral pattern never faced and the blanket had a cozy feel.

Zazzle offers three blanket sizes to choose from; small medium and large. Shop for the size blanket that fits your needs. I bought the medium size for my nieces and they told me that it looks nice on their twin-sized bed. They use it on top of their solid color comforter because they love the floral pattern.

Christmas Home Decor Ideas

I love a white Christmas theme for my home because it reminds me of the winter season and the forest. I think home decorations that consist of the colors of white, silver, and green are the perfect colors for a winter white Christmas theme. The white represents the snow, the silver the ice, and the green is the color of the fir trees that are in the forest.

I have hiked in the forest when the snow was on the ground and came to a clearing where the fir trees had a dusting of snow on the branches and in the clearing was a herd of deer. It was the perfect setting for an enchanted winter wonderland.

Know that when you decorate your living spaces or bedroom with a winter white theme that when Christmas is over you would take down your tree and pack up your ornaments.  However, you can leave your garland with pinecones on your mantle and centerpieces.  Leave the winter decorations up throughout the season and they will make your home feel cozy.
